This year, we're celebrating our Loose Lips anniversary in both Manchester and Bristol!
The first is in Manchester - Loose lips takes the garage to the kitchen! A selection of the best old & new garage/dubstep.
To warm up for the event, we'll be hosting a showcase at Eastern Bloc Records, starting at 1800...
Tickets-wise, we've joined up with PFTP on this event - they're a 100% not-for-profit site, that donates profits from booking fees to charities around the globe.
- El-B (Ghost)
EL-B (born Lewis Beadle) is a British producer and DJ. He is commonly seen as one of the pioneers of the dubstep genre. He was initially one half of the Garage duo known as Groove Chronicles but left in 2000 to pursue a solo career. He runs the Ghost Recordings label and is also part of the duo El-Tuff.
- Circula (Tokyo Wax)
Circula is a producer from Totnes, currently residing in Berlin. Driven by the influece of jazz and funk coming from far and wide, he makes a variety of music where only one comparison can be drawn - big beats and meaningful bass lines. Part of the devon sound-system Groundvibes/G.V smooth, he draws his second influence from having his head in the sub-bins and experiencing music as true as it can sound from a big rig.
- Yak (Pretty Pretty Good / Circular Jaw)
Yak is a DJ who can smash you over the head repeatedly and yet leave you wanting more. He's about more than just that though, and increasingly you'll find him weaving around the entirety of the electronic and bass music spectrum to get any dancefloor bouncing. Yak the producer is also finding some real momentum and already has his debut EP out on Circular Jaw, with more releases on their way on the District Sound and Brunswick Sound imprints. He's receiving airplay all over the place too, from NTS and Rinse FM to Berlin Community Radio and BBC Radio 1Xtra, with heavy support coming from the likes of Loefah, Madam X, DJ Barely Legal, Hodge, Klose One and more.
He's supported Palms Trax, Ejeca, Dark Sky, XXXY and many other over the past year, as well as featuring alongside Evian Christ, Submotion Orchestra, James Holden & Lapalux at Tramlines Festival. Yak is a man who lives and breathes for his craft and we're tipping him to go far.
