Soaring string work, brittle melodies and crunchy, obtuse machine rhythms which sum up the soul of the label.
From S27-X (I) and S27-X (II) V/A compilation on Section 27.
This compilation celebrates the 10th year of Section 27, an "underground" DIY online digital label run by Tam Ferrans, operating out of Scotland since 2009. Taking inspiration from early 2000's era netlabels such as Monotonik, as well as the more known sources like early Warp, Skam et al.
Begun mainly as an imprint to host music by himself and a handful of friends, it grew organically over a decade, absorbing more artists and notching up over 170 releases to date from producers all over the world, occasionally crossing paths with other allied excellent electronic labels out there in the community
So for this 10 year milestone of S27-X, we get not one but 2 bundles of music.
